Automatic Level Control Sensor Replacement (Twist Axle)

Removal Procedure

Notice: When you are servicing the automatic level control sensor link, ensure that the sensor link and the sensor arm are not damaged. Ensure the sensor arm and the sensor link are properly oriented. Improper orientation of the sensor arm and the sensor link may cause damage to the automatic level control system or the vehicle.

1. Remove the ELC/TRAILER fuse.
2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
3. Remove the ALC sensor connector.
4. Remove the ALC sensor link (3) from the ball stud (1).




5. Remove the ALC sensor bracket bolts/screws.
6. Remove the ALC sensor with the bracket (2) from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

1. Position the ALC sensor and bracket (2) to the vehicle.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.

2. Install the height sensor bolts/screws.

Tighten the height sensor bolts/screws to 12 N.m (106 lb in).




3. Install the ALC sensor link (3) to the ball stud (1).
4. Install the ALC sensor connector.
5. Lower the vehicle.
6. Install the ELC/TRAILER fuse.
