Pedal Positioning Sensor: Service and Repair

Brake Pedal Position Sensor Replacement (Two-mode Hybrid)

Removal Procedure

1. Turn the ignition to the OFF position and remove the ignition key.
2. Remove the driver knee bolster reinforcement. Refer to Driver Knee Bolster Reinforcement Replacement (Service and Repair).




3. Disconnect the brake pedal position sensor electrical connector.
4. Remove the brake pedal position sensor bolts (1).




5. Remove the brake pedal position sensor (1).

Installation Procedure

Note: Ensure the brake pedal position sensor arm is engaged on the brake pedal pin.




1. Install the brake pedal position sensor (1).





Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

2. Install the brake pedal position sensor bolts (1) and tighten to 3 Nm (27 lb in).
3. Connect the brake pedal position sensor electrical connector.
4. Install the driver knee bolster reinforcement. Refer to Driver Knee Bolster Reinforcement Replacement (Service and Repair).
5. Perform the brake master cylinder primary piston position sensor relearn. Refer to Electronic Brake Control Module Programming and Setup (Programming and Relearning).
