Drive Motor Generator Battery Replacement

* EL-48264 - Drive Motor Battery Lift Tool
Removal Procedure
1. Review the high voltage safety information prior to performing the High Voltage Disabling procedure. Refer to High Voltage Safety (High Voltage Safety).
2. Perform the high voltage disabling procedure. Refer to High Voltage Disabling (High Voltage Disabling).
3. Disconnect the service disconnect. Refer to Hybrid Battery Service Disconnect/Connect (Procedures).
4. Remove the high voltage terminal cover. Refer to Battery Terminal Cover Replacement (Battery Terminal Cover Replacement).
5. Remove the battery cable fastener (1) the cover ground fastener (2) and the battery terminal fasteners (3).
6. Using the EL-48569 - covers , cover the 300 Volt terminals (1).
7. Disconnect the 16-way Low Voltage connector and detach the harness retainers.
8. Remove the push-pin from the outlet duct and reposition the duct enough to remove the right front battery nut.
9. Remove the drive motor generator battery fasteners (1).
10. Use the EL-48264 - lift tool , to remove the battery.
11. Install the tool at lifting points (1) and (2).
12. Carefully remove the drive motor generator battery (1).
Installation Procedure
1. Carefully install the drive motor generator battery (1).
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).
2. Install the drive motor generator battery fasteners (1) and tighten to 58 Nm (43 lb ft).
3. Install the outlet duct and push-pin.
4. Remove the EL-48569 - covers , from the 300 Volt terminals (1).
5. Reposition the cable terminals and Install the battery cable terminal fasteners (1) and tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb in).
6. Tighten the cover ground fastener to 11 Nm (100 lb in).
7. Tighten the battery terminal fasteners to 8 Nm (79 lb in).
8. Install the high voltage terminal cover. Refer to Battery Terminal Cover Replacement (Battery Terminal Cover Replacement).
9. Enable the high voltage system. Refer to High Voltage Enabling (High Voltage Enabling).
10. Reprogram the new drive motor generator control module. Refer to Control Module References (Programming and Relearning).
