Saturn Diagnostic Systems - Software Update Timing
TO: Saturn Fixed Operation Managers
You will receive software updates for the Service Advisor System (SAS) and Service Stall System (SSS) approximately every three months. These updates contain enhancements to diagnostic accuracy, user-friendliness, and changes to keep pace with vehicle on-board systems.
While minor changes to software, and Powertrain Control Module (PCM) Electrically Erasable/Programmable Read-Only Memory (EEPROM) calibrations will continue to be distributed by satellite system, the software size of major updates prevent satellite distribution.
SAS and SSS updates will arrive together. SAS updates will consist of diskettes. SSS updates will consist of a Compact Disc-Read Only Memory (CD-ROM) disc.
Each diagnostic system software update package will include explanations of software changes and instructions on the load procedures. It is important that you have these updates loaded as soon as possible upon receipt, so that we may continue satellite distributions. Also, please forward the explanations of software changes to the appropriate personnel.
