Component Testing

PASSIVE RESTRAINT CONTROL MODULE (PRCM)

Check for damaged or corroded terminals or connectors. Check terminals for tightness.

If the wires, switches, connectors/terminals, or mechanisms are not at fault, the PRCM must be damaged.

Location: Under the center console between the front seats.

BATTERY

Check the state of charge.

FRICTION OR BINDING IN RAILS

Make sure the mouse cable is not binding in the rail and nothing is obstructing the mouse travel. Check to see that the mouse travel reaches the position sensor switches at both ends of the rail.

CHIME/DELAYED DOME LAMP MODULE

Location: Plugs into the back (driver's side) of the I/P junction block.

Install a new chime/delayed dome lamp module. If new module fixes the complaint, install the old module to verify the module is bad. If the fault is not the module, check for damaged or corroded connections.

Repair as needed.
