Powertrain Controls - ECM/PCM
Coolant Temperature Sensor (CTS) Wiring.:
DESCRIPTION
The PCM uses a pull up resistor to increase resolution throughout the entire range of engine operating temperatures. When the coolant temperature is less than 40°C (104°F) the 4K ohm resistor is used. When temperature is above 40°C (104°F) the PCM switches to the 348 ohm resistor. If the pull up resistor does not switch, Code 17 will set.
CODE PARAMETERS
Code 17 will set if:
^ The Pullup resistor inside the PCM switches and there is no change in the coolant temperatures signal.
DIAGNOSTIC AIDS
Code 17 is an internal fault within the PCM. The PCM must be replaced.
