SUBJECT:
Ticking or Popping Noise Coming From I/P Upper Trim Panel at Windshield (Install Felt Material or Foam Tape)

MODELS
AFFECTED:
All 1991 and 1992 Saturns

CONDITION:
The ticking noise may be caused by the front edge of the I/P upper trim panel coming in contact with the windshield.

The popping noise may be caused by the expansion of the I/P upper trim panel as it expands while warming-up. This noise is heard most often after the vehicle has been parked for an extended amount of time, in a temperature of 5~C (40~F) or lower, with the heater set to the DEFROST mode as the vehicle warms-up.

CAUSE:
The ticking noise is caused by the I/P upper trim panel being distorted or misaligned and contacting the windshield.

The popping noise is caused by the thermal expansion of the I/P upper trim panel expanding at the I/P upper trim panel clips.
