Procedure:


REMOVAL

1. Lower the door glass.

2. Using a wax pencil, mark the point on the front-side of the side window garnish molding where it meets the side window inner sealing strip (refer to Figure 1).


3. Carefully remove side window garnish molding by pulling it from the window frame channel. Place the side window garnish molding on a clean, dry surface.

INSTALLATION

1. Using a lint free cloth moistened with alcohol, clean the back-side of the side window garnish molding and the inside of the window frame. Allow alcohol to dry.

2. Starting from the point marked on the side window garnish molding during removal, install Kent Industries (1-800-654-6333) Adhesive Tape, P/N VT-B 20290 (or equivalent to the full-length of the back-side of the molding.

3. For the front doors:

a. Starting from the mitered end (location 1, Figure 2), remove tape backing from the first 76 mm (3 in.) of the tape.

b. Butt the mitered end against the mirror trim panel and press the first 51 mm (2 in.) of tape into the window channel.

c. Remove 76 mm (3 in.) of tape backing at the opposite end of the tape (location 4, Figure 2).

d. Install the portion of the side window garnish molding that does not have tape below the side window inner sealing strip. (Refer to mark on front-side of side window garnish molding for alignment.)

e. Firmly press 51 mm (2 in.) of the tape into the window channel.

f. Remove the remainder of the backing from the tape.

g. Locate the slit on the back-side corner of the side window garnish molding and install into window channel (location 3, Figure 2) forcing the slit ends to butt-up against each other. Firmly press 51 mm (2 in.) of tape into window channel on each side of the corner.

h. Firmly press side window garnish molding into (location 2, Figure 2) and into the mid-points (between locations 2 and 3) equally dividing the molding excess.

i. Install remainder of side window garnish molding firmly into window channel.

4. For the rear doors:

IMPORTANT: Care must be taken once the tape backing is removed since the tape will stick to any surface it contacts.

a. Completely remove the backing from the tape.

b. Install front upper corner (location 6, Figure 2), by locating slit on inside corner of molding into corner of door frame and forcing slit ends to butt against each other.

c. Install front lower portion below inner sealing strip (location 5, Figure 2). (Refer to mark on front-side of window garnish molding for alignment.)

d. Firmly press 51 mm (2 in.) of tape into window channel.

e. Butt rear of side window garnish molding (location 7, Figure 2), against rear door stationary glass and firmly press 51 mm (2 in.) into window channel.

f. Install remainder of side window garnish molding firmly into window channel, dividing molding excess equally.
