Telltale Lamp Functional Check

TELLTALES

Seat Belt Telltale
Turn ignition on, engine not running, seat belt not connected, the seat belt telltale should be on.

ABS Telltale
Use the PDT to operate the ABS telltale.

Brake Telltale and Coolant Level Telltale
Turn ignition ON, car not running these telltales should come on for a few seconds and then go off.

Charge, Service Engine Soon, and Oil Pressure Telltales
Turn ignition ON, engine off, these telltales should be on.
Use the PDT to operate the Service Engine Soon telltale.

High Beam Telltale
Turn on bright lights and the telltale should be on.

Left and Right Turn Telltales
Apply either the left or the right turn signal and the corresponding telltale should flash on and off.

Coolant Temperature Telltale
Run engine until coolant temperature is very hot to verify that the telltale functions properly.

Shift to Second Telltale
Drive the vehicle to verify that the telltale comes on. See Transaxle section for telltale operation.

Lap Belt Telltale
Turn ignition on, lap belt not connected, the lap belt telltale should be on.

Upshift Telltale (U.S. only)
Drive the vehicle to verify that the telltale comes on. See Transaxle section for telltale operation.
