Malfunction History Chart.:

The PCM has the ability to take a snapshot of four pieces of engine data with each code stored. This information can be found with a SATURN scan tool listed in the chart. Other scan tools may not have this functions. check with the manufacturer.

This information can be very useful when attempting to troubleshoot intermittent codes or flags.

Four pieces of engine data will be stored with each code listed. The four pieces of data (varies with code) were selected to provide related information most often used when attempting to troubleshoot intermittent codes.



Related data selected based on:


^ Sensor reading when code was set.

^ To provide information on other sensors using same circuits.

^ Information on duplicate driving conditions when code was set.

^ Related data to determine engine operating conditions when code set.


NOTE: Malfunction history will remain in the PCM until clear codes is selected. General information codes will be cleared after approximately 50 ignition cycles by the PCM.
