Quick Ground Checks

QUICK GROUND CHECKS
Before checking each ground circuit from the component all the way to the ground stud, check the circuit from the splice pack to ground by testing some of the other sub-systems grounded by the same splice pack. If the other sub-systems function properly, it is most likely that the path from the splice pack to ground is good (or at least one of the paths is good with redundantly ground splice packs).

NOTE: Passive restraint central module ground circuit 155C and left body ground splice pack grounded through circuit 155YY at ground point M

Location:
The left body ground splice pack is located under the driver's seat.

CIRCUIT 155C

Location:
Connects passive restraint control module connector cavity C to ground circuits 155YY and 155ZZ through right body ground splice pack connector cavity H.

Type:
Black 18 gage wire

Function:
This is the ground circuit for the passive restraint control module.

CIRCUIT 155YY

Location:
Connects splice pack cavity A to ground

Type:
Black 16 gage wire

Some of the systems grounded:
- Sunroof
- Left front door jamb/ajar switches
- Map light
- Dome lamp

The splice pack is jumpered to the right body ground splice pack by circuit 155AA to make a redundant ground at ground point N.

GROUND CIRCUIT 159A, 15911, 155P
Right body ground splice pack grounded through circuit 155ZZ at ground point N.

CIRCUIT 155ZZ

Location:
Connects splice pack cavity A to ground

Type:
Black 16 gage wire

Systems grounded:
- Door lock relay
- Mirror switch
- Ash tray lamp
- Power window switch

The splice pack is jumpered to the left body ground splice pack by circuit 155AA to make a redundant ground at ground point M.

CIRCUIT 155AA Redundant Ground Wire

Type:
Black 16 gage wire connecting cavities K of both splice packs.
