Component Testing
RADIO
Perform the System Performance Test outlined in this section. If the test shows that a new radio is needed check radio connectors and terminals for damage. Also check terminals for tightness and corrosion.
NOTE: Verify that a new radio works then replace the old radio to verify that the problems is in the radio and not in the wiring.
If this component is good, go to the next item indicated on the Symptom Chart.
ANTENNA/ANTENNA CABLE
Check resistance through the antenna cable. Resistance should be less than one ohm.
Repair as needed.
If this component is good, go to the next item indicated on the Symptom Chart.
SPEAKER
Check resistance through the speaker coil. Resistance should be 4-7 ohms.
Repair as needed.
If this component is good, go to the next item indicated on the Symptom Chart.
