Column Switch Resistance Table:






COLUMN SWITCH
See switch resistance table.

Before checking the column switch do the diagnostic tests for Circuits 96, 92 and 153F.

Check for opens at pin B, C and A on column switch connector.

Repair as needed.

If a new switch is installed and the complaint is fixed, install the old switch to verify the problem was in the switch. If the complaint does not appear again, check the terminals and connections for damage/corrosion and terminal tightness.

If this component is good, go to the next item indicated on the Symptom Chart.


WIPER MODULE
Check the circuits, connectors, and terminals that are attached to the wiper module.

Wiper module should not be tested out of vehicle, it must be connected to the windshield wiper switch to work properly. The wiper module and motor are serviced as one unit and should not be taken apart.

Repair is by replacement only.

If a new module and motor is installed and the complaint is fixed, install the old module and motor to verify the problem was in the switch. If the complaint does not appear again, check the terminals and connections for damage/corrosion and terminal tightness.

If this component is good, go to the next item indicated on the Symptom Chart.


BATTERY
Check state of charge.

Check for loose or corroded terminals.

Repair as needed.

If this component is good, go to the next item indicated on the Symptom Chart.


MISCELLANEOUS
Excessive noise can be caused by over-torque of the wiper module to car fasteners.
