Component Testing

DRIVER'S DOOR KEY CYLINDER SWITCH

The driver's door lock key switch will lock or unlock the all the doors electrically.

In the LOCK position cavity C of the switch should have continuity to cavity B and to ground.

In the UNLOCK position cavity C of the switch should be open to cavity B and to ground.

In the UNLOCK position cavity A of the switch should have continuity to cavity B and to ground.

In the LOCK position Cavity A of the switch should be open to cavity B and to ground.

Cavity B of the switch should have continuity to ground at all times.

INTERIOR DOOR LOCK SWITCHES

In the LOCK position cavity A of the switch should have continuity to cavity B and to ground.

In the UNLOCK position cavity A of the switch should be open to cavity B and to ground.

In the UNLOCK position cavity C of the switch should have continuity to cavity B and to ground.

In the LOCK position cavity C of the switch should be open to cavity B and to ground.

Cavity B of the switch should have continuity to ground at all times.

DOOR LOCK RELAYS

The door lock relays are not individually replaceable.

In the LOCK position the following readings should appear at the pins of the door lock relays:
Pin A Battery Voltage
Pin B Battery Voltage
Pin C Ground
Pin D Battery Voltage
Pin E Ground
Pin F Ground

In the UNLOCK position the following readings should appear at the pins of the door lock relays:
Pin A Ground
Pin B Ground
Pin C Ground
Pin D Battery Voltage
Pin E Battery Voltage
Pin F Battery Voltage

Check for OPENS/SHORTS.

Repair as needed.

DOOR LOCK MOTORS

Check the connections at the motors.

Check for OPENS/SHORTS.

Repair as needed.
