Circuit 1234, 1234A

LOCATION:
Circuit 1234 connects I/P cluster connector cavity K to I/P engine in line connector cavity V. Circuit 1234 A connects I/P engine in line connector cavity V to PCM connector cavity J2B01.

TYPE:
Gray/Red 22 gage wire.

Check the shift to second telltale ground circuit for opens or shorts to ground. Turn the ignition to run with the cluster harness connector installed. The lamp should light for a few seconds and go off. If the lamp does not light, the circuit must be open. The PCM is at fault or the cluster is at fault. If the PCM grounds the circuit and the lamp does not light, then the cluster is at fault. If the lamp lights and stays lit, the circuit must be shorted to ground.

REPAIRS:
Check for OPENS/SHORTS.

Repair as needed.
