Service Information on Fuel Pump Usages

MODELS AFFECTED:
All 1993 Saturns

PURPOSE:
Model year 1993 Saturns use two different fuel pumps; a different one for each engine configuration. If the SOHC (LKO) fuel pump is incorrectly installed on a vehicle with a DOHC (LLO) engine, insufficient fuel pressure will be supplied to the engine, resulting in possible driveability complaints in cold weather. Parts can be visually identified by the label attached to the vent line from the pump.

NOTE:
Fuel pump assembly (P/N 21006549) is also released to service 1991-1992 vehicles equipped with the SOHC (LKO) engine.
