Circuit 1290

LOCATION:
Connects I/P cluster connector cavity M to ABS controller connector cavity 005.

TYPE:
Gray/White 22 gage wire. (ABS applications only.)

Check the antilock brake system (ABS) telltale ground circuit for opens or shorts to ground. Turn the ignition to run with the cluster harness connector installed. The lamp should come on and then go off. If the lamp does not turn on, the circuit is shorted to ground, the ABS controller is bad or the cluster is at fault. If cluster connector cavity M is open and the lamp does not light, then the cluster is at fault. If the lamp turns on and stays on, the circuit must be open or the ABS controller is bad.

REPAIRS:
Check for OPENS/SHORTS.

Repair as needed.
