Circuit 231, 231A, 231B

LOCATION:
Circuit 231 connects I/P cluster connector cavity G to I/P inline connector cavity H. Circuit 231A connects I/P inline connector cavity H to oil pressure sender/switch cavity A. Circuit 231B connects I/P (TBI only) inline connector cavity H to oil pressure switch.

TYPE:
Tan/Black 22 gage wire. (TBI engine only.)

Check the oil pressure switch sender circuits for opens or shorts to ground. Turn the ignition to run with the cluster connector installed. Observe the oil pressure telltale. If the light does not come on, the sender circuit is open, the switch is failed open, or the telltale bulb is open. Jumper cluster connector cavity G to W, if the telltale illuminates, the bulb is working. If the circuit is grounded and the telltale does not illuminate, the cluster is at fault. If the light comes on and stays on, the circuit is shorted to ground or the switch is failed closed.

REPAIRS:
Check for OPENS/SHORTS.

Repair as needed.
