Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.

Circuit 3A, 3B

CIRCUIT 3A

LOCATION:
Connects power splice pack connector cavity E to I/P junction block connector cavity D8.

TYPE:
Pink 14 gage wire.

The following systems are fed by circuit 3A. If these systems operate properly, the circuit must be good.
^ Cluster
^ Chime module
^ Passive restraint control module
^ Perf/Norm switch
^ Turning signal switch
^ Brake pedal switch

If they all malfunction, the circuit is open. Put the ignition in run and check for voltage on circuit 3A at the I/P junction block. There should be battery voltage. If not, the circuit is open.

REPAIRS:
Check for OPENS/SHORTS.

Repair as needed.

If this component is good, go to the next item indicated on the SYMPTOM CHART.

CIRCUIT 3B

LOCATION:
Connects power splice pack connector cavity D to underhood junction block connector cavity E1.

TYPE:
Pink 14 gage wire.

The following systems are fed by circuit 3B. If these systems operate properly, the circuit must be good.
^ Cluster
^ Neutral start/backup switch (Auto only)
^ Manual trans backup switch
^ Fuel injector(s)
^ Coolant level switch
^ Powertrain Control Module (PCM)
^ Exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) solenoid
^ Canister purge solenoid
^ Distributorless ignition system (DIS)
^ Auto trans relay

If they all malfunction, circuit 3B is open. Put the ignition in run and check for voltage on circuit 3B at the underhood junction block. There should be battery voltage. If not, the circuit is open.

REPAIRS:
Check for OPENS/SHORTS.

Repair as needed.

If this component is good, go to the next item indicated on the SYMPTOM CHART.
