Paint - Codes & Cross References

NO.: 92-I-14A

DATE: September, 1992

CORP.NO.: 281702

SUBJECT: 1993 MODEL PAINT INFORMATION

This bulletin supercedes Bulletin 92-I-14, which should be discarded.

The listings of 1993 paint codes contained in this bulletin will enable Retailers to order the necessary paint materials required for proper field repairs.

The list of colors indicates the suppliers' ordering codes for exterior and interior colors.

At this time, all Saturn vehicles are built at the Spring Hill, Tennessee manufacturing facility and painted with a base coat/clearcoat paint system.

Paint manufacturers such as PPG, DuPont, R-M/Glasurit, Sherwin Williams-Martin Senour-Acme and AK7-0/Sikkens produce service paint which could perform satisfactorily for field repairs. Paint suppliers in your area can provide you with information regarding these materials.

The paint listed in this bulletin is available from local paint suppliers.

The Service Parts Identification (SPID) label illustrated in the Figure in this bulletin is located on the spare tire cover. This label contains the paint codes needed to identify the paint materials for field repairs. This label identifies the paint code along with the WA # for that paint code. It is equally important to use this WA # along with the paint code to identify the correct repair materials. Care should be taken to transfer the SPID label or its information if the panel to which the label is affixed requires replacement. Replacement SPID labels are not available.

All 1993 Saturn vehicles employ composite body panels on the vertical surfaces of the automobile. Included in this bulletin is a chart identifying each type of material and where it is used.
