Information on Rear Compartment Side Panel Assembly Mid-Year Product Change

MODELS:
1991-1993 Saturns

PURPOSE:
The purpose of this bulletin is to provide service replacement procedures for a revised rear compartment side panel assembly.





The rear compartment side panel assembly was redesigned in mid-year 1993. The first design rear compartment side panel assembly had a "tire-blocker." The second design does not contain a tire-blocker.

IMPORTANT:
The second design rear compartment side panel assembly is used to service both designs.

When replacing a first design rear compartment side panel assembly, on the right side of the vehicle, with a second design rear compartment side panel assembly, the wheelhouse panel must be replaced.





Before installing the second design rear compartment side panel assembly, the inner lower rear panel quarter (highlighted in illustration) must be removed. Also, the rear compartment rear panel assembly (floor pan) flanged area, just above the inner lower rear panel quarter, must be trimmed to fit the second design rear compartment side panel assembly.
