Fillpipe Restrictor: Description and Operation

Fuel Door And Restrictor (Typical):






Purpose
To prevent refueling with leaded fuel, the fuel filter neck has a built-in restrictor and deflector. The opening in the restrictor will accept only the smaller unleaded gasoline fuel nozzle which must be fully inserted to bypass the deflector.

Special Tool
The recommended tool to check a fillpipe restrictor is as follows:
^ Minimum diameter 0.9375 inch
^ Maximum diameter 0.950 inch
^ Tool must be made from non-sparking material (suggested 1552 alloy)
