Grounds

The various functions of the instrument cluster are grounded at different points on the car. The ground paths from the splice pack to the ground can be tested by checking the function of other systems sharing the common ground.

I/P Splice Pack

Location: Taped to the I/P harness behind the instrument cluster.

The systems grounded by the I/P splice are grounded redundantly at ground points C (chassis ground) and D (I/P chassis ground) are:

^ ABS
^ Wipers
^ Low brake fluid switch
^ Cruise
^ Headlamp switch
^ Cigar lighter element
^ Cigar lighter bulb
^ Rear defogger switch
^ Radio
^ Assembly line diagnosis link (ALDL)
