BULLETIN NO.: 94-T-02ISSUE DATE: February, 1994
GROUP/SEQ. NO.: Transaxle-01
CORPORATION NO.: 480102
SUBJECT:
Service Information on PCM/TC Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) 35 and Information Flag 86
MODELS AFFECTED:
1994 Saturns equipped with automatic transaxles.
PURPOSE:
When using the service stall system (SSS) to reprogram PCM calibrations, options, tire size or VIN on model year 1994 Saturns with automatic transaxles, PCM/TC diagnostic trouble code (DTC) 35 and information flag 86 may set. This diagnostic trouble code (DTC) and information flag set as part of the EEPROM reprogramming process, and do not indicate a vehicle problem.
PCM/TC diagnostic trouble code (DTC) 35 normally indicates a malfunction of the turbine speed sensor and information flag 86 normally indicates a malfunction of the engine speed signal.
If PCM/TC diagnostic trouble code (DTC) 35 and information flag 86 set after any service stall system EEPROM reprogramming, clear the PCM/TC diagnostic trouble codes (DTC's) using the portable diagnostic tool (PDT) or service stall system.
If PCM/TC diagnostic trouble code (DTC) 35 and information flag 86 are set prior to any service stall system reprogramming, refer to the service procedure in the "Automatic Transaxle Service Manual."
