REMOVAL
1. Remove the air intake tube and resonator.
2. Release accelerator control cable from throttle lever.
CAUTION: Do not disassemble routing cover and cable from support bracket. Throttle cable and bracket are serviced as a one piece assembly.
3. Release cable retainer locking tangs from accelerator control cable bracket.
4. Release accelerator control cable from accelerator pedal assembly.
NOTE: The accelerator cable assembly can be removed and installed easier with the accelerator pedal assembly removed.
5. Release cable retainer locking tangs from dash panel.
NOTE: An adjustable wrench can be set to the width of the hole and used to collapse the throttle cable retainer tangs.
6. Remove cable from vehicle.
INSTALLATION
1. Raise vehicle squarely on a hoist.
2. Route cable through front of dash from the outside in, under the intake manifold, and up between the third and fourth intake ports.
3. Lower vehicle.
WARNING: Whenever a throttle cable assembly is installed, make sure locking tangs are engaged to front of dash. Pull on the cable to insure the tangs are engaged.
4. Install cable retainer into front of dash.
5. Install cable retainer into the support bracket until locking tangs engage.
6. Connect accelerator cable to throttle lever.
7. Inspect air cleaner gasket and replace if torn, deteriorated, or damaged. Install air cleaner assembly or air inlet tube and resonator. Attach air inlet and fresh air tubes.
8. Connect accelerator control cable to accelerator pedal assembly.
9. Check accelerator control assembly for binding.
