PCM MEMORY ERROR
Each time the PCM is powered up, several terminal tests are performed on the random access memory (RAM), electrically programmable read only memory (EPROM) and electrically erasable/programmable read-only memory (EEPROM). If there is a fault in one or more of these, DTC 51 will set.

DTC PARAMETERS

DTC 51 will set if:
The PCM memory is malfunctioning.

DIAGNOSTIC AIDS
DTC 51 indicates an internal PCM/Engine Control (EC) malfunction. The PCM should be replaced.

Tampering with the PCM/EC will cause a DTC 51.
