Service Manual Update for the 1996 Revised Electrical Service Manual

MODELS AFFECTED:
1996 Saturns

PURPOSE:

The second paragraph of the CAUTION on page ELTS 20 of the 1996 Revised Electrical Service Manual incorrectly states that the sensing and diagnostic module (SDM) only retains sufficient voltage to cause a deployment for up to 10 seconds. The sensing and diagnostic module (SDM), used in 1996 Saturns can retain sufficient voltage to cause a deployment for up to 10 minutes.

Please include the enclosed "SERVICE PRECAUTION" sticker over the SERVICE PRECAUTIONS on page ELTS 20 of the 1996 Revised Electrical Service Manual.

Also, the cover of the 1996 Revised Electrical Service Manual was incorrectly printed without the word "Revised" under the year "96." Please include the enclosed "Revised" sticker under "96" on the cover of the Electrical Service Manual.

IMPORTANT:
The 1996 Revised Electrical Service Manual can be identified by the part number located on the lower back cover. The revised service manual has a part number of S03 96011K10R0196.
