1. Drain coolant.
2. Raise and support vehicle.
3. Move heater hose clamps upward.
4. Lower vehicle.
5. Remove air cleaner housing.
6. Remove heater hoses at core, then blow coolant from heater core with an air hose.
7. Disconnect left and right center instrument panel trim panel Velcro tabs, then pull outward to unclip.
8. Remove lower heater duct attaching screws, then drop straight down and slide out sideways, Fig. 8. Use caution to not damage the rear floor heater duct seal.
9. Release temperature cable hold-down clip from lower heater core cover by lifting upward on plastic tab while down on top of cable, Fig. 9.
10. Depress temperature valve pin, then pull temperature cable straight out.
11. Remove heater core side cover attaching screws, then remove.
12. Remove lower heater core cover.
13. Remove heater core pipe clamp attaching screw.
14. Remove lower heater core retainer attaching screws.
15. Remove heater core.
16. Reverse procedure to install.
