Component Tests and General Diagnostics

Cargo Lamp Switch
Location: The switch is part of the decklid latch assembly (not serviced separately).
Check for damaged or corroded terminals or connectors. Check terminals for tightness. Check ground ring terminal on latch assembly is clean and tight.
Check resistance through the switch.
Switch resistance: OPEN when decklid closed Less than one ohm when decklid open.
Repair as needed.
If this component is good, go to the next item indicated on the Complaint-Condition Chart.

Cargo Lamp
Check for damaged or corroded terminals or connectors. Check terminals for tightness.
Check voltage through the bulb socket.
Repair as needed.
If this component is good, go to the next item indicated on the Complaint-Condition Chart.
With bulb removed and decklid open, measure voltage between socket contacts. Battery voltage should be measured.
