P0563
Diagnostic Chart:
Wiring Diagram:
The PCM internally monitors ignition voltage on circuit 439.
DTC PARAMETERS
DTC P0562 will set when:
^ Battery voltage at the PCM is less than 11 volts with engine running.
DTC P0563 will set when:
^ Battery voltage at the PCM is greater than 17 volts with engine running.
NOTE: The PCM monitors system voltage continuously when the engine is running. The system must fail twice per ignition cycle in order to set a DTC.
DIAGNOSTIC AIDS
When attempting to diagnose an intermittent problem, use the Scan tool to review malfunction history diagnostic information. The supplemental data can be used to duplicate a problem.
Intermittents or opens suspected to be at the connector can be detected by using diagnostic service probe. Voltage can be read on wires without disconnecting any connectors.
Check the tightness of the female terminal grip with a spare male terminal.
The engine must meet the setting conditions in order to diagnose the DTC.
This DTC must also set if the vehicle is used to jump start another vehicle that has a dead battery.
DTC P0562 can set if all accessories are on for extended idling periods. This does not indicate a problem.
Check the fusible link between generator and starter for corrosion or blown link.
^ Check charging system first.
^ Check Under Hood Junction Block (UHJB) 30 amp IGN 4 and 5 amp PCM 1 fuse.
