Battery:





REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable from the battery.
2. Disconnect the positive cable from the battery.
3. Remove the hold-down retaining nut and screws and lift off bracket assembly.
4. Lift the battery out of the vehicle, and place in a safe location.
5. Remove foam shield.

CAUTION: DO NOT TIP BATTERY OVER 45° ANGLE OR ACID COULD SPILL

INSTALLATION
1. Make sure battery tray is clean.
2. Make sure that the battery cable ends are clean and free of corrosion. (Clean with a wire brush.)
3. Make sure that the battery is in good physical condition (i.e., no cracks or obvious damage) and that the terminals are clean.
4. Install battery carefully in the battery tray; make sure that the terminals do not short against any metal during the installation.

IMPORTANT: Battery foam shield must be replaced or battery life will be degraded.

5. Install the foam battery shield and battery hold-down retainer. Tighten the hold-down retaining nut and screws.
Torque: 9 N m (80 in-Ibs)
6. Connect the positive cable first.
Torque: 17 N m (151 in-Ibs)
7. Connect the negative cable last.
Torque: 17 N m (151 in-Ibs)
