Steering Wheel - Installation

1. Route wiring through steering wheel and install steering wheel onto steering shaft noting orientation notch that locates steering wheel in correct position.
2. Remove yellow tab (or tape) from SIR coil assembly.
3. Install new steering wheel attachment nut.

IMPORTANT: A new steering wheel attachment nut must be used.

- Torque: 40 Nm (30 lb ft)
4. Connect cruise control connector and install switch (if equipped). Connect horn switch connector.
5. Connect inflator module (air bag) to wiring harness and install integral connector lock device.

IMPORTANT: Always replace inflator module (air bag) fasteners with new fasteners. Never reuse old fasteners.

6. Install inflator module (air bag) into steering wheel and torque fasteners, being careful not to cross thread fasteners.
- Torque: 10 Nm (89 lb in)
7. Snap on screw covers.
8. Enable the SIR system. (Refer to Air Bags and Seat Belts.)
