Transaxle Case Disassembly





1. Remove the axle seal using SA9133T.
a. Remove the seal dust cover by prying out with a screwdriver.
b. Remove seal retaining ring.
c. Remove the seal by threading puller through the steel seal body as close to the outside diameter as possible.
2. Remove park/neutral position switch seal by prying out with screwdriver.





3. Remove case bearings.
- To remove input and output shaft bearings from the transaxle case use snap ring pliers to expand the snap ring only far enough to slide the bearing out of its bore by hand.





4. Remove reverse idler assembly.
a. Remove reverse idler gear shaft cap bolts.
b. Remove cap.
c. Remove idler gear shaft.
d. Remove gear and bearing.

IMPORTANT: The shaft contains O-rings which may cause difficulty in removing shaft. Rotating shaft while pulling will aid in removal.





5. Unless the filter bypass valve is physically damaged, there is no need to remove. This valve will be damaged when removing. To remove use tool SA9103E and SA9173G.
