Ignition Cylinder Inspection Procedure

1. Apply parking brake.

2. Start vehicle.





3. With the vehicle's engine running (ignition switch in the RUN position as shown in the illustration), try to remove the ignition key.





^ If the ignition key cannot be entirely removed from the ignition cylinder, no repair is necessary. Apply Campaign Completion Label to radiator core support.

^ If the ignition key can be entirely removed from the ignition cylinder, re-insert the ignition key to turn the ignition to the OFF position. Proceed to the "Cylinder Repair Procedures" that follow in this bulletin.

IMPORTANT:
The ignition key may have some movement. However, this is normal, and it is operating correctly as long as the key cannot be removed entirely from the ignition cylinder.
