Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.

Owner Inspection Procedures

1. While seated in the driver's seat, apply the parking brake by pulling up on the parking brake lever.

2. Start the vehicle.

3. With the vehicle's engine running (ignition switch in the RUN position as shown in the graphic), try to remove the ignition key.

^ If the ignition key cannot be entirely removed from the ignition cylinder, no repair is necessary, proceed to step 4.

^ If the ignition key can be entirely removed from the ignition cylinder re-insert the ignition key to turn the ignition cylinder to the OFF position. Your vehicle will require repairs performed by your Saturn Retailer. Contact your local Saturn Retailer and make arrangements to have the service work performed. Do not complete step 4.

IMPORTANT:
The ignition key may have some movement. However, this is normal, and it is operating correctly as long as the key cannot be removed entirely from the ignition cylinder.

4. If the system performed normally, apply the attached Campaign Completion Label to the upper radiator core support of the vehicle (under the hood), next to the Saturn Power Module Label (refer to graphic). Then, to let us know that your ignition key cylinder is OK, please complete section # 6 of the postage-paid card, sign it, and return it to Saturn.
