Compressor Discharge Hose

REMOVAL
1. Recover refrigerant using an approved refrigerant recovery system.
2. Remove discharge hose from compressor outlet.
3. Remove discharge hose from condenser inlet.

IMPORTANT: Remove left front headlamp assembly to gain access to fitting.


INSTALLATION
1. Remove protective cover from discharge hose.

NOTICE: Use only R-12 Refrigerant oil (mineral) to lubricate O-rings. Use of R-134a (PAG) oil will cause premature corrosion of fitting joints.

^ Lubricate O-ring with R-12 mineral refrigerant oil.
^ install discharge hose to condenser inlet.
^ Tighten fitting.
Torque: 23.50 N.m (17 ft.lbs.)

IMPORTANT: Make sure discharge hose pipe is parallel to line on radiator end tank. This will prevent the discharge hose from contacting the suction hose and transaxle oil cooler lines, preventing potential damage to the hoses.

2. Remove protective cover from discharge hose.

NOTICE: Use only R-12 Refrigerant oil (mineral) to lubricate O-rings. Use of R-134a (PAG) oil will cause premature corrosion of fitting joints.

^ Lubricate O-ring with Saturn R-12 mineral refrigerant oil.
^ install discharge hose to compressor.
^ Install and torque bolt.
Torque: 25 N.m (19 ft.lbs.)

3. Evacuate, charge, and leak test A/C system.
