Steering Wheel - Removal

1. Disable the SIR system. (Refer to Air Bags and Seat Belts.)
2. Remove screw caps on the steering wheel by carefully prying with a small flat head screwdriver.
3. Remove inflator module (air bag) screws.
4. Lift inflator module (air bag) out of steering wheel.
5. Remove integral connector lock device, disconnect connector and remove inflator module (air bag).
6. Disconnect cruise control switch (if equipped) and horn switch connector.
7. Remove steering wheel attachment nut.





8. Install steering puller onto steering wheel and remove steering wheel.
9. Feed wiring through the wheel and remove wheel.
10. Insert yellow tab into SIR coil assembly to prevent rotating SIR coil.

NOTICE: If yellow tab is not available, use tape to prevent SIR coil from rotating.
