Removal and Installation



Crankshaft Position Sensor.:






REMOVAL

1. Record preset radio stations.
2. Turn ignition switch off.
3. Disconnect negative battery cable.

CAUTION: MAKE SURE THE VEHICLE IS PROPERLY SUPPORTED AND SQUARELY POSITIONED PRIOR TO LIFTING.

4. Jack or raise vehicle.
5. Disconnect electrical connector from CKP sensor.
6. Remove attachment bolt and CKP sensor.

INSTALLATION

Crankshaft Position Sensor.:






1. Lubricate O-ring with clean engine oil.
2. Install CKP sensor in engine block.

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

3. Install CKP sensor attachment bolt.
- Torque: 9 Nm (80 lb in)
4. Connect electrical connector to the CKP sensor. Push in until a click is heard and pull back to confirm a positive engagement.
5. Connect negative battery cable.
6. Program preset radio stations.
