Lock Cylinder Disassembly Procedures

Front Side Door Lock Cylinder Disassembly - All Vehicles





1. Using a thin-bladed screwdriver, carefully pry front side door lock cylinder cap and remove from front side door lock cylinder.

IMPORTANT:
When front side door lock cylinder shutter is removed, the front side door lock cylinder shutter springs may fall out.

2. Remove front side door lock cylinder shutter and front side door lock cylinder shutter springs.

3. Insert key into front side door lock cylinder, turn the key a quarter turn clockwise, and remove front side door lock cylinder from front side door lock cylinder housing.





4. If necessary, remove front side door lock pawl from slot in housing.

5. Repeat steps 1 through 4 for other remaining front side door lock cylinder.

6. To code front side door lock cylinders, refer to "Lock Cylinder Coding Procedures - All Lock Cylinders" included in this bulletin.





Liftgate and Rear Compartment Lock Cylinder Disassembly





1. Remove lock cylinder clip at rear of lock cylinder.

2. Remove lock cylinder pawl.

3. Remove lock cylinder spring.





4. Insert a thin-bladed screwdriver between lock cylinder cap and lock cylinder housing, and carefully pry lock cylinder cap from lock cylinder.

IMPORTANT:
When lock cylinder cap shutter is removed, the lock cylinder shutter springs may fall out.

5. Remove lock cylinder cap shutter and shutter springs from lock cylinder housing.





6. Insert key into lock cylinder, turn the key a quarter turn clockwise, and slide lock cylinder from lock cylinder housing.

7. To code liftgate and rear compartment lock cylinders, refer to "Lock Cylinder Coding Procedures - All Lock Cylinders" included in this bulletin.

Ignition Lock Cylinder Disassembly

1. Remove ignition key from ignition lock cylinder.

2. Using a thin-bladed screwdriver, remove ignition and start switch bezel from ignition lock cylinder housing.





NOTICE:
Ignition lock cylinder pin is under pressure, be careful not to lose ignition lock cylinder pin when removing from ignition lock cylinder.





3. Insert ignition key into ignition lock cylinder, and depress ignition lock cylinder pin at rear of ignition lock cylinder with a thin-bladed screwdriver.

4. Rotate ignition lock cylinder and remove ignition lock cylinder pin and ignition lock pin spring.

5. Remove ignition lock cylinder from ignition lock cylinder housing.

6. To code ignition lock cylinder, refer to "Lock Cylinder Coding Procedures - All Lock Cylinders" included in this bulletin.
