Installation
Speedometer Or Tachometer Installation:
If tachometer was removed, begin with step 1 (tachometer must be installed before the speedometer can be installed). If only speedometer was removed, start with step 3.
1. Align the tachometer over the two guide pins and press downward equally on both edges of the gage (at the top and bottom clips) until fully seated (snaps).
2. Seat the indicator dial face onto retaining pins (two small white pegs up by the turn indicators.)
Speedometer Or Tachometer Installation:
3. Align the speedometer over the two guide pins and press downward equally on both edges of the gage (at the top and bottom clips) until fully seated (snaps).
4. Inspect and verify rest position of speedometer and tachometer pointers.
5. Clean dial faces with low volume clean dry air - (207 kPa [30 psi] maximum) with a side-to-side sweeping motion.
6. Clean inside of lens/mask assembly with low volume clean dry air (207 kPa 130 psi maximum) with a side-to-side sweeping motion.
Speedometer Or Tachometer Installation:
7. Holding lens/mask assembly by the ends and face up, align reset knob with hole in lens.
8. Start lens/mask tabs into slots in housing and at the top of cluster seat two housing tabs into lens/mask slots.
9. Press down on top of lens/mask around edge to fully seat all clips.
10. Inspect for proper alignment and seating of all clips.
11. Turn instrument panel cluster assembly over and carefully place face down. Make sure that the terminals (crimped to the flex PCB) are fully seated in the black connectors at the speedometer and tachometer connections. Carefully align and seat connectors at tachometer (if removed) and speedometer. Do not use unnecessary force to install, making sure to check for obstructions and proper alignment. Do not bend connectors more than necessary for installation.
IMPORTANT: If the connector is difficult to install, pinch the crimped section of the flex between your thumb and forefinger and gently bend the connector away from the crimp to a 30 to 40 degree angle.
12. Seat tachometer flex PCB tab into housing slot under tachometer.
13. Inspect that all gages and clips are seated correctly and that there is no debris or markings on the lens or dial faces.
