Front Door / Trim Panel
FRONT DOOR TRIM PANEL (SEDAN / WAGON SHOWN, COUPE SIMILAR)
REMOVAL
1. Remove mirror trim panel by firmly pulling on panel to disengage attaching clips. If equipped with manual remote mirror, allow panel to hang from adjustment cable.
2. Remove fastener from center of inside door handle assembly. Slide door handle assembly forward while pulling outward from the trim panel. Using a thin screwdriver disengage rod from retainers.
IMPORTANT: If equipped with power door locks, disconnect power door lock switch wiring to remove inside door handle.
3. With manual windows:
Using a standard window handle tool, disengage manual window regulator handle clip and remove window handle.
4. On Coupe:
Remove push pin rivet on upper rear edge of trim panel and screw at upper front edge near mirror.
5. Remove trim panel fasteners at pull cup and lower rear corner of trim panel.
6. Pull up on door trim panel assembly to disengage trim panel to door structure attaching hooks and remove door trim panel.
7. If pull cup is to be changed, remove pull cup fasteners and remove pull cup from door trim panel.
INSTALLATION
1. Install pull cup if previously removed.
2. Position door trim panel to door structure at attaching hooks. Lock in door trim panel by pushing downward on door trim panel.
3. Install door trim fasteners at pull cap and rear lower corner of the door trim panel.
4. On Coupe:
Install door trim push pin rivet at rear edge of trim panel and install screw fastener at the top front edge near mirror.
5. With manual windows:
Install manual window regulator handle clip on handle. Install door handle onto vehicle with handle pointed in a forward and slightly up position with window closed.
6. If equipped with power locks, connect harness to power door lock switch.
7. Position door handle assembly in trim panel. Tip handle outward at top. Using a thin hook style tool, lift latch and lock rods into trim panel and slide rearward to engage tabs. Install screw in handle.
8. Install mirror trim panel.
