Circuit Diagnosis - Cargo Lamp

CARGO LAMP SWITCH
Location: The switch is part of the liftgate latch assembly (not serviced separately).

Check for damaged or corroded terminals or connectors. Check for terminal tightness.

Check for resistance through the switch.

Switch resistance: OPEN when liftgate closed. Less than one ohm when liftgate open.

Repair/replace as needed.

If this component is good go to the next item indicated on the chart.

CARGO LAMP
Check for damaged or corroded terminals or connectors. Check for terminal tightness.
Check voltage through the bulb socket. With bulb removed and liftgate open, measure voltage between socket contacts. Battery voltage should be measured.

Cargo Lamp: Liftgate Lamp Switch Position:

Switch resistance:

When measuring for continuity between terminals A to C and B to C some resistance will be measured. This is the resistance of the Bulb.

Repair/replace as needed.

If this component is good go to the next item indicated on the chart.

LIFTGATE AJAR TELLTALE BULB
Visually inspect the liftgate ajar telltale bulb in the cluster.

Replace as needed.

If this component is good go to the next item indicated on the chart.
