Service Information on New Torque Specification for the Steering Wheel Nut

MODELS AFFECTED:

1997-1999 Saturn vehicles

PURPOSE:

This bulletin provides technical information on changes to the torque specification for the steering wheel nut. The specification provided below should supercede the specification available in prior versions of the Saturn Body Repair service manuals and quick reference guides.

IMPORTANT:
The steering wheel nut must be replaced any time the steering wheel is removed and re-installed.

The new torque for the steering wheel nut is: Torque: 35 N-m (26 ft-lbs.)
