Sunroof / Moonroof Module: Service and Repair

SUNROOF MODULE ASSEMBLY

REMOVAL

1. Remove sunroof glass assembly. Refer to "Sunroof Glass Assembly Removal" procedure.

2. Remove headliner. Refer to "Headliner Removal" procedure.






3. Remove two screws, remove map lamp and sunroof switch console, and disconnect wire connectors.






4. Disconnect wiring along right side of sunroof module to center pillar location and disconnect sunroof actuator (motor) harness.






5. Disconnect four sunroof drain hoses from sunroof module.

6. Remove fasteners from sunroof module and remove sunroof module.

INSTALLATION






1. Install sunroof module leaving fasteners loose.

2. Connect sunroof actuator (motor) wiring, and connect wiring along right side of sunroof module.

3. Connect map lamp and sunroof switch wiring and install console with two screws.

4. Install sunroof glass assembly. Refer to "Sunroof Glass Assembly Installation" procedure.

5. Align sunroof module by cycling glass open and closed. In the closed position, the glass will center the module.

6. With glass fully open, tighten sunroof module fasteners.

Torque: 14 Nm (124 in-lbs)






7. Connect four sunroof drain hoses to sunroof module. Make sure hoses are not kinked.

8. Adjust sunroof glass to 1 mm (0.040 in.) below roof surface at front and 1 mm (0.040 in.) above roof surface at rear by loosening sunroof glass attaching screws and moving sunroof glass.

Torque: 3 Nm (26 in-lbs)

9. Install headliner. Refer to "Headliner Installation" procedure.

SUNROOF MODULE ALIGNMENT

1. Remove headliner. Refer to "Headliner Removal" procedure.

NOTICE: If screws are too loose, it is possible that the glass panel will scratch the roof panel.

2. Slightly loosen sunroof module fasteners.

3. Align sunroof module by cycling glass open and closed. In the closed position, the glass will center the module.

4. With glass fully closed, tighten sunroof module fasteners.

Torque: 14 Nm (124 in-lbs)

5. Install headliner. Refer to "Headliner Installation" procedure.
