1998 Model Paint Information
Due to the addition of new colors, this bulletin supercedes bulletin 97-T-42, which should be discarded.
The listings of 1998 paint codes contained in this bulletin will enable Retailers to order the necessary paint materials required for proper field repairs. The list of colors indicates the suppliers' ordering codes for exterior and interior colors.
All Saturn vehicles are built at the Spring Hill, Tennessee manufacturing facility and painted with a base coat/clearcoat paint process.
Paint manufacturers such as those listed on the pages that follow, produce service paint which could perform satisfactorily for field repairs. Paint suppliers in your area can provide you with information regarding these materials.
The paints listed in this bulletin should be available from local paint suppliers.
We believe these sources and their products to be reliable. There may be additional manufacturers of such products. Saturn does not endorse, indicate any preference for or assume any responsibility for the products from these firms, or for any such items which may be available from other sources.
The Service Parts Identification (SPID) label illustrated in the Figure is located on the spare tire cover. This label contains the paint codes needed to identify the paint materials for field repairs. This label identifies the paint code along with the WA # for that paint code. It is important to use this WA # along with the paint code to identify the correct repair materials. Care should be taken to transfer the SPID label or its information if the panel to which the label is affixed requires replacement. Replacement SPID labels are not available.
