Control Cable Assembly Adjustment





1. Move shifter into the Park (P) position.

CAUTION: Make sure vehicle is properly supported and squarely positioned on hoist. To help avoid personal injury when a vehicle is on a hoist, provide additional support for the vehicle on the opposite end from which components are being removed.

2. Position and raise vehicle on hoist.
3. Disconnect control cable assembly from control lever assembly located on automatic transaxle.
4. Make sure control lever assembly is in P position by moving control lever assembly clockwise (away from engine) until it clicks and cannot be moved any farther.





5. Release control cable assembly adjustment lock tab at automatic transaxle. Use a screwdriver, awl, or pick to pry up lock tab and lift.
6. Reconnect control cable assembly to control lever assembly.
7. Move control cable assembly housing back and forth in adjuster and note end play.
a. Center control cable assembly in the middle of the end play.
b. Depress lock tab on control cable assembly.
8. Lower vehicle from hoist.
9. Verify proper operation.
