Wiper and Washer Systems: Description and Operation
The Lever Combination Switch (LCS) operates the headlamps, turn lamps, hazard lamps, and front and rear wipers. The LCS also provides a circuit path to the cruise control switch, horn switches, and the driver air bag.The following charts can be used as a system check for the headlamp, turn/hazard. cruise, horn, front and rear wiper switches, and driver air bag.
Connected Symbol:
This symbol indicates that the circuits referenced are connected (less than one ohm resistance) when the switches are in the position indicated in the columns on the left side of each chart.
Resistance Symbol:
The symbol, for the wiper switch, represents resistance between the two connector cavities joined by the circles. Resistance values are listed in the columns on the right side of the chart. Resistance measurements should be within +/- 10 percent of the resistance values shown.
When performing system checks, the Saturn Connector Test Adapter Kit SA9206Z should be used.
