Major Compressor Repair Procedures
REMOVAL1. Recover refrigerant using an approved refrigerant recovery system.
IMPORTANT: Verifying the purity of the refrigerant with a refrigerant purity identifier before the recovery is recommended.
CAUTION: DO NOT FULLY REMOVE HOSES OR LINES BEFORE THE SYSTEM IS FULLY DISCHARGED.
2. Remove hose bolt from compressor high side and remove hose.
High Side Service Port:
3. Remove pressure relief valve.
INSTALLATION
High Side Service Port:
1. Lubricate pressure relief valve O-ring with new R-12 mineral compressor oil. Install valve and torque to specification.
Torque: 7.2 N.m (63 in-lbs)
2. Lubricate and install new O-ring on discharge hose with R-12 Refrigerant oil (mineral). Install high side hose to compressor high side port. Torque to specification.
Torque: 25 N.m (19 ft-lbs)
3. Evacuate, charge, and leak test the A/C system.
