Installation Procedure

NOTICE: The SDM bolts provide ground for the SIR system. If any of the four sheet metal holes, SDM holes or bolt threads get damaged, use replacement bolt, part number 21022036. DO NOT use Loctite(R) 242 Thread Locker, or equivalent material, on the bolts because it will insulate the ground path.





1. Install SDM and bolts to vehicle.

IMPORTANT: Make sure SDM is oriented with the arrow facing forward.

Torque: 15 N.m (133.5 in-lbs)





2. Connect electrical connector and install connector position assurance (CPA) device.
3. Place shifter in neutral.
4. Lower front of console over shifter.
5. Lower rear of console over parking brake lever on to rear mounting pad.

IMPORTANT: Make sure to place window/mirror and ashtray light connectors through openings into position.





6. Move console rearward.
7. Connect cigarette lighter electrical connector.
8. Install cigarette lighter bulb through opening and rotate clockwise.
9. Move console forward into position.

IMPORTANT: Make sure upper tabs on front of console engage sheet metal on lower I/P brace.

10. Install and tighten front console screws.

Torque: 1.2 N.m (11 in-lbs.)





11. Align rear of console with pin on mounting pad.





12. If equipped with center console/arm rest, position center console/arm rest to center console.
13. Install and tighten screws.

Torque: 1.6 N.m (14 in-lbs)

14. Install screw cover.





15. Install left trim panel extension by inserting hinges into console openings. Then rotate closed and push in at dual lock locations. Wait to install right trim panel until fuse is installed during SIR system enabling.





16. Connect window/mirror switch electrical connectors.
17. Install window/mirror switch by inserting front edge into opening. Then push rear edge down into position.





18. Insert bulb through opening until bulb socket is flush with cup holder. Push socket down to engage lock tab.
19. Install wiring harness to cup holder.





20. Install cup holder by inserting through console opening and pushing straight down.
21. Enable the SIR system. (Refer to "Enabling the SIR System.")





22. Install parking brake cover over lever.
23. Install and tighten screw.

NOTICE: Do not over tighten screw or it will pull through cover.

Torque: 1.6 N.m (14 in-lbs.)
