Instrument Panel Compartment Replacement

Removal Procedure





1. Open the glove compartment door.
2. Remove the glove compartment lamp assembly by pulling on lamp plunger.
3. Disconnect the glove compartment lamp wiring harness from glove compartment lamp.




4. Remove the right side I/P lower closeout panel (hush panel) retainers.
5. Pull the closeout panel (hush panel) rearward to detach from forward retainers




6. Remove the right side heater outlet assembly retainer and remove outlet.




7. Remove the glove compartment door.




8. Remove the glove compartment bin fasteners.
9. Slowly remove the glove compartment bin, tilting the bin downward to expose the BCM residing on top of the glove box.
10. Remove the BCM module from the glove compartment by sliding module out of the attaching slots.
11. Remove the glove compartment bin.



Installation Procedure





1. Install the glove compartment bin partially into the opening
2. Secure the BCM to the glove compartment bin slots.




3. Route the glove box lamp wiring harness through the lamp opening and connect the glove compartment lamp wiring harness to the glove compartment lamp.
4. Snap the lamp into the glove compartment bin.




5. Install the glove compartment bin to the I/P with the fasteners.

Tighten the glove compartment bin to 2.5 N.m(22 lb in).





6. Install the heater outlet with the retainer to the glove compartment bin.




7. Install the right side lower the I/P closeout panel (hush panel) with retainers.
8. Function the glove compartment lamp and glove compartment door to ensure proper operation.




9. Install the glove compartment door with fasteners.

Tighten the glove compartment door fasteners to 2 N.m(18 lb in).
